TNM system: A common staging system for leiomyosarcoma. The TNM system assigns a number for the degree of invasion of the intestinal wall (T), the degree of involvement of the lymphatic node (N) and the degree of metastasis (M).
 
tumor wax: Also known as paraffin block, this substance encases a tumor after removal when it is sent to a laboratory.
 
uterine fibroids: Leiomyomata of the uterine smooth muscle.
 
uterus: A location of the body that contains involuntary muscles and is thus a possible site of leiomyosarcoma.
 
vascular leiomyosarcoma: Occur in large veins (inferior vena cava or larger veins of leg - saphenous, iliac and femoral).
